Dean Burhoe - President

Dean

Dean's Family

When Dean was 16 he began his landscaping career with a mower, weedwacker, and an old Ford pickup. After school and throughout college (degree in Landscape Design from the University of Connecticut) he would mow lawns in the evening for extra money. Eventually, Dean began to expand his operations to include employees and offer additional services such as landscape design and installation of concrete pavers. Today, Burhoe Landscaping and Lawn Service has grown into a company that is a leader in the landscape industry. We now have maintenance crews, landscape crews, hardscape crews, natural stone masons, carpentry crews, and more. We have a full line of trucks and equipment to meet any landscape need.

"I believe that over the years I have established a business that sets us apart from other landscape companies. My crews are experienced, knowledgeable, and courteous. My equipment is up to date, correctly maintained, and properly insured. We continue to educate ourselves by attending seminars and lectures that are related to our industry. When it comes to our customers, we are meticulous, dedicated to our work, and have a 'no problem' attitude."

When Dean is not hard at work he enjoys spending time with Wendy, his wife of 22 years, and his three children - Erin (14), Andrew (18), and Brent (20). He is very active in his church, and loves to camp in the warmer seasons, snowmobile in the winter, and spend time with his dog Samson.

Not only does David bring a deep understanding and appreciation of the physical demands of the job, but he has also operated behind-the-scenes in various leadership roles. He brings a sharp, fresh focus on the future of landscaping and shares a wonderful demeanor with clients. David studied Business Management at Boston College and Eastern Connecticut State University. Not only is he both ICPI and OSHA certified, he has also completed the CNLA nursery program and possesses DEP licensing. David has received special recognition when one of his accounts won the Hartford Blooms Award and also when he was honored with the Community Service Award for saving someone’s life.

When not on the job, David spends time with his wife, Bevin, their two children, Elijah and Taigan, and their dogs. He enjoys playing basketball in addition to being a high school basketball coach. He also enjoys hiking and taking long drives on his motorcycle.

Jeff Maron - Landscape Foreman
  Jeff

Many of you may not have met Jeff. He is the quiet guy who just steadily does his job. Jeff began his landscaping career working behind the scenes at the former Larson Brothers Garden Center in Bristol. He worked his way up to where he oversaw much of the plant material holding yards and greenhouse areas. When the Larsons closed their business they highly recommended Jeff to us. As Jeff begins his sixth season with us he has risen through the ranks to become one of our landscape foremen. Jeff has extensive plant material knowledge and does great pruning. He also has become one of our top hardscape installers and excels in paying attention to those little details that make a good job a great job.
